Danielle Beaulieu Images of Old - Cut Crystal

During this 6-week class, Danielle Beaulieu  will show you different approaches to painting cut crystal and related reflections, refracted color, and wonderful distorted shapes.   Participants will increase their knowledge of colour and brush management.

Danielle Beaulieu is an award winning artist, juror and watercolour instructor and she showcases her work in solo shows and galleries.  Some comments from her students:

Supply List

You will need to download the ZOOM app.  There is an online tutorial available at support.zoom.us.   

Danielle will guide you through some of the fundamentals from the development of observational abilities to the creation of texture to make cut crystal items appear real. For two hours each week, you will receive advice on the necessary steps for each painting.  Then all participants will paint along to apply the demonstrated techniques.  The focus will be on interactive and individualized instruction. You will be encouraged to ask questions throughout.

Between classes, you may send photos of either in-progress or completed paintings to Danielle for a private critique or advice to take your painting to the next stage.  You will have a bit of “homework” each week. 

You will complete 3-4 paintings.

Dates:  Thursdays, September 9th to October 14th, 2021.  (6 weeks)

Times:  Evenings, 7:00-9:00 p.m.    

Class fee:  $120.00 for KAC members; non-members, $140.00.

Registration will open to KAC members on August 9th.  It will open to the general public on August 12th.  To register, please email the registrar at:  registrar@kac1.ca.  You will receive an email advising if a spot is available, and information regarding payment.

Registration is limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis.  Fees must be paid in full at the time of registration.

The Kanata Art Club reserves the right to cancel a class where there is insufficient registration.  To withdraw prior to the start date, please contact the  registrar at registrar@kac1.ca.  A cheque for a full refund less an administrative fee of $15.00 will be issued if a written request is received no less than 48 hours prior to the start of the first class.  There will be no refund issued beyond that date.
