Feeling the need to get back to basics or learn the basics? 

Whether you need a refresher or are a beginner looking for an introduction to the wonderful world of colour, here is your opportunity.

Date:  Saturday May 4th, 2019  10:00 am - 4:00 pm:

We will be looking at colour and colour mixing during this one-day workshop.   Through a series of class demo's and fun-filled exercises,  you will:

•   Understand the importance of colour, colour mixing, and colour schemes in the design and creation of art.  Learn to recognize different colour schemes (analagous, triads, and split complementary).  

•   Discover the colour wheel.  Mix the colour you want using the basic primary's, and black and white.  

•   Appreciate the importance of colour value in creating representational (realistic) paintings.  We will look at the primary, secondary, and tertiary colours and the use of complementary colours to change the colour value.

•   Learn to decipher the technical information you find on paint tubes.  

Materials:  sketchbook, regular white eraser, kneaded eraser, 2B, 4B, Hb pencils, smudge, pencil sharpener, Taklon round brush size 8 and flat, size #6.  We will supply watercolour paper and a small set of watercolours for each participant.

Cost:  $50 for KAC members, $60 for non-members.
