The Kanata Art Club is offering an intensive seven week course in portraiture with accomplished figurative artist, Donata Szafian.

Enhance your understanding of facial features and the proportions of the human head.  Strengthen your ability to use line, shadow, value, tone, rendering, and perspective to create portraits that sparkle with light and life. Bring a photo reference of someone that you want to draw or paint.  We will work with graphite initially.  As we progress, the choice is yours:  to complete an advanced study in graphite or, to experiment with oils.

Donata Szafian is a classically trained artist, with a BFA from Janus Pannonius University; also a BA and MA from the Hungarian University of Applied Arts in Budapest.
