Margrit (Meyer) Jorgensen
Born and educated in Hamburg Germany, Margrit has been drawing and using watercolour since childhood. She travelled through Europe sketching then became a Canadian citizen and married in Ottawa.
While her children were young she enjoyed various creative crafts; spinning and weaving wool, rug hooking and rya, embroidery, sewing, upholstering, knitting and crocheting (making her own patterns).
She has pursued her interest in art extensively since 1977 through courses at the Ottawa School of Art and others in oil painting, pastel portraiture, stained glass, concentrating on water colour medium and has lately used acrylics.
She has exhibited in various group and solo shows.
Her paintings can be found in private collections in Ottawa, Toronto, Vancouver, USA, Denmark, Sweden, England and Germany
