THE LIFE OF A PAINTING FROM START TO FINISH With Janis Miller Hall
In this course we will explore the methods of representational painting while taking you through the stages of creating your own original oil or acrylic painting from the reference material of your choice. An emphasis will be placed on creating dynamic compositions and preparatory work so that when you get to the painting stage most of the critical decisions have been made and the painting process is fun, not frustrating.
Composition , value, colour and texture will be explored. Brushwork and knife techniques will be demonstrated.
Safe studio practices with both oils and acrylics will be discussed.
Please bring lots of reference material, your enthusiasm and a sense of humour.

Fees: Members: $160 per person; Non-members: $180 per person
Enrollment: Limited to 12 students.
Registration is limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Fees must be paid in full at the time of registration.
Kanata Art Club reserves the right to cancel a class where there is insufficient registration. You will be notified and issued a cheque for a full refund.
To withdraw prior to the start date, please contact the firstname.lastname@example.org. A cheque for a full refund less an administrative fee of $15.00 will be issued if a written request is received no less than 48 hours prior to the start of the first class. There will be no refund issued beyond that date.
