THE LIFE OF A PAINTING FROM START TO FINISH With Janis Miller Hall
In this course we will explore the methods of representational painting while taking you through the stages of creating your own original oil or acrylic painting from the reference material of your choice. An emphasis will be placed on creating dynamic compositions and preparatory work so that when you get to the painting stage most of the critical decisions have been made and the painting process is fun, not frustrating.
Composition , value, colour and texture will be explored. Brushwork and knife techniques will be demonstrated.
Safe studio practices with both oils and acrylics will be discussed.
Please bring lots of reference material, your enthusiasm and a sense of humour.
